This intricate work was created over five levels prior to the escalators being craned into place within the new Marrickville Metro development. The work was created incorporating elements from Marrickville’s history, including reference to the Winematta Shale, Swamp hens and Vicars wool, the work references shapes of the Gumbramorra swamp, Marrickville council boundary and topography and contains further elements created in response to four stories as heard in interviews conducted with prominent locals from the community.
